This is an adorable little greeting card -- about 3 1/2 inches square. It's unused, and the back is marked "Brownie 5 L 197 Copyright". I bet someone out there has a collection of these. Would love to know more about the artist and company.

Today, for the first time, I attended the commemoration of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in Greenwich Village. It was a very moving ceremony. All the names of the dead were read, some by descendants of the deceased, others by children just learning about the tragedy and its meaning in labor history. As they do each year at the ceremony, firefighters raised a ladder that did not reach the top floors of the building -- which still stands, and is part of the NYU campus.
You can see my original post of this collage, and more about the history of the fire that took 146 lives on March 25, 1911, by clicking here.

Jenny sent out this fab page from David Wolfe's book with the following message:
To help celebrate Oscar weekend, here's a paper doll for you featuring two of my favorite outfits; the simple but classy red gown worn by Audrey Hepburn in 1992 and the fabulously trashy showgirl ensemble worn by Cher when she won an Oscar in 1986.
The complete paper doll book offers four glamorous models and 23 fashions that either rocked or wrecked the red carpet!
Who can forget Cher's over-the-top get-up? And who knows what celebrity costume will trip up the red carpet tonight?

Doreen Whitley has set up an Etsy shop to sell copies of her mother's adorable paper dolls. The shop is listed under the name "Dollydodolls" and you can find it by clicking here.
The paper dolls are printed on shiny paper, with magnets attached to the back for play on a magnet board or fridge. Doreen will also offer paper versions, for those who like their paper dolls the old- fashioned way.
